24.11.2017 • Celebration in Geneva on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenia's membership to the United Nations and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Switzerland

On November 24, a concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s membership to the United Nations and to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Switzerland was held at Victoria Hall in Geneva with the participation of world-famous musician Sergey Khachatryan.

22.03.2013 • Adoption by the Human Rights Council (UN) of the resolution on Prevention of Genocide

On March 22, the Resolution on Prevention of Genocide presented by Armenia was passed by a consensus during the 22nd sitting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. The Permanent Mission of Armenia to the United Nations Office in Geneva was the initiator of the draft resolution on prevention of genocide. After several initiatives, the Human Rights Council passed a resolution dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in 1998, as well as the resolutions on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in 1999 and 2001. In 2008, the Human Rights Council passed the resolution on the Prevention of Genocide. All the mentioned resolutions have been passed by a consensus and have been supported by the UN-member states.

On the 25th September 2012, on the initiative of the Permanent Mission of Vatican, and under the auspices of the Permanent Missions of Armenia, Greece, Romania, Malta, Morocco, Lebanon, Palestine, was presented the "Symphony for religious freedom" in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations in Geneva, attended by the musicians of the orchestra of Matera’s Conservatory in Italy, as well as twelve solists from Middle East.
