  On June 24, solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to the democratic transition in Armenia in April-May 2018 was held in the United Nations Office at Geneva, organized by the Permanent Representation of Armenia in UN Geneva office.  Minister Mnatsakanyan delivered opening remarks and particularly noted: “This exhibition expresses the spirit of two months of Revolution, where people were truly taking their destiny in their hands, becoming a participant of an important process, where they were owners of the revolution. 24.06.2019 • Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross

  On June 24, within the framework of his working visit to Geneva, Minister  Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). During the meeting, the issues of cooperation agenda between Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross were touched upon. The sides valued the sectoral cooperation with various agencies of Armenia, including regarding the awareness raising on international humanitarian law and reforms being held in judiciary system.   Madame High Commissioner, Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am glad to be back in the Council for the second time in one year.  One year ago the people of Armenia demonstrated their strong commitment and determination to defend and secure the powers, ideals and values of a democratic society.   On June 24, in Geneva,  Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The sides commended the existing close cooperation between Armenia and the UN office for Human Rights, outlined steps to further deepen it.   On June 24, the event entitled "Armenia. One Year of Democratic Transition" was held in the United Nations Office at Geneva, organized by the Permanent Mission of Armenia. During the event, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Ombudsman the Republic of Armenia Arman Tatoyan and Clément Nyaletsossi Voule, the UN Special Rapporteur delivered remarks as the  keynote speakers.
